This exciting development brings together over 30 years yacht broking experience, offering buyers access to both high quality new and used boats. We have established offices in Sydney, Pittwater and at Scarborough on Moreton Bay covering the Australian East Coast from NSW to QLD. Our commitment to pro-active and high quality marketing via the Internet and selected national print media remains as strong as ever. We will be capitalising on the brand awareness we’ve generated to date to promote a bigger and better platform for selling boats.

The People Behind Yacht Sales Australia

Jeff Rowe:
Having developed his own Advertising Agency in Sydney over 35 years ago, Jeff knows how to sell products. Following a lifetime of racing and refurbishing boats of all kinds and sizes he has an intimate knowledge of design and what makes boats tick. The benefit to you the owner is that he effectively appraises your boat and can guide you in how best to present it and to maximise the return to you from the sale.

Jeff has spent the last seven years running and owning a leading Brokerage in Scarborough, Brisbane. Whilst retaining that office, Jeff partnered with Clive Gregory in the establishment of a Sydney Brokerage – their relationship goes back a long way, in that the two have known each other since their earliest days racing with the Middle Harbour Yacht Club fleet.

In September 2011 the partnership purchased the well known Sydney Brokerage, Sydney Yachting Centre at Middle Harbour Yacht Club at the Spit and currently work closely with Geoff Pearson and Matt Pyne to ensure existing and new customers continue to receive the best professional advice and service.

Shortly after acquiring Sydney Yachting Centre, both offices underwent a re-branding with the establishment of Yacht Sales Australia Pty Ltd. This structure enables the marketing and selling the new yacht brands of Delphia Yachts and Archambault performance yachts whilst continuing to build a strong used power and yacht brokerage across both Queensland and New South Wales. You might say that…we’ve got the East Coast covered!!!

Clive Gregory:
Clive has a strong business background having spent many years at the senior level of IT management culminating in the founding and development of 30 man operation pioneering the implementation of electronic commerce in the areas of retail, manufacturing and transport.

Clive’s passion for boating goes back to his early days as a boy in England Clive grew up messing around in boats, He has early memories of an uncle’s timber launch and trips from Bristol along the River Avon to the tidal reaches in the River Severn. After emigrating to Australia, over 25 years ago, he was smitten by the beauty of Sydney Harbour and bitten by the yacht racing bug and has been a keen competitor ever since. Both around the cans and having competed in most of Australia’s east coast classic offshore ocean races, simply, he just loves racing sail boats of all kinds!

Clive’s biggest weakness however is a love of classic – for that read timber – yachts. He currently owns a stunning Alan Payne classic 40 footer called “Fare Thee Well”. Clive races her regularly with a number of the Pittwater clubs and has cruised her up and down the East Coast including her second visit to the Wooden Boat Festival in Hobart last February.

Derek Gibb:
I don’t think anybody has owned more boats that Derek. He’s experienced the lot, from monos to multihulls, he’s even gone as far as building his own from plans. Now that’s an enthusiast!

Following a successful career in Management and Sales, Derek went cruising the Barrier Reef, experiencing first hand the delights of hiding behind Islands and enjoying the social side of living on a boat and just what that entails. He’s now able to pass on his experiences to many new boat buyers looking to do the same thing.

Derek is the full time Manager of our Scarborough office in Brisbane. He knows the Queensland scene as well as anybody. He’s in the best position to give advice on all makes of boats, whilst drawing on his extensive experience and broad range of available boats for sale. Geoff Pearson:
Geoff’s a well known identity in the Sydney yacht building and sales scene, he’s run Sydney Yachting Centre and built Northshore Yachts for many years. An accomplished racer, Geoff has sailed for Australia in 3 world championships and participated in numerous state and national titles.

Geoff is integral part of the new Yacht Sales Australia structure with his continued involvement in the sales of new Delphia and Archambault Performance Yachts and used boat sales. Geoff brings to the new structure an irreplaceable knowledge of the business past and present and is readily available to those seeking his experience as to which boat would be most suitable to their needs, working of course from first hand experience.

Ivan Rowe:
Ivan commenced sailing with his Dad, Jeff when he was only 6 in a Jack Holt designed Puffin Pacer. His sailing skills have developed to a level where he has had the opportunity to race on Wild Oats and numerous other top racing yachts within the Sydney Harbour scene.

Ivan has had a strong financial business career prior to getting into Yacht Broking, as a result, he’s a pretty good number cruncher. In fact one could say that between Geoff Pearson and Ivan, Yacht Sales Australia has the qualifications and experience required to service the needs of the yacht racing fraternity.

Ivan’s Broking experience is considerable, having initially worked out of our Brisbane office then based himself back into the Sydney market whilst continuing his close association with Racing scene back here.

Matt Pyne:
Matt, has been a key member of the Sydney Yachting Centre team for more than a decade and is a 25 year veteran of the industry, in both Victoria and NSW. As one of our most knowledgeable brokers, having sold both new and used boats – brands such as Beneteau, Jeanneau, Bavaria, Delphia and Archambault to name just a few. Matt brings passion to the business and is committed to outstanding customer service and sharing information with all of our clients.
